SMARTWRAP X2 PRE-STRETCH is a turntable pallet wrapper with a scale and a label printer: the pallet is put on the turntable with a stacker or a pallet truck, the machine weighs the load and wraps it in stretch film in one cycle, and the operator does not walk around the pallet with a roll of film.

The machine is configured for your pallets: turntable 1500, 1650, 1800, 2000 or 2200 mm and wrapping height 2200, 2600 or 3000 mm. Every version carries up to 2000 kg and wraps up to 30 pallets an hour. The column is only 2000 mm high for a 2200 mm wrap, so the machine goes under a low ceiling.

The film is stretched before it goes on the load: powered pre-stretch of 250 % (up to 350 %) makes one metre of film cover two and a half metres of the pallet, so a roll lasts longer and the film holds the load under even tension.

The built-in scale weighs the load while it is wrapped, so a separate weighing station is not needed. The label printer prints the weight straight onto a label, so the pallet leaves the machine weighed, wrapped and labelled in one cycle.

It is suited to operations that need to secure, weigh and label pallets in a single step. Typical users include food and beverage plants dispatching bulk stock, building-material and chemical producers shipping heavy pallets, and third-party logistics providers that must document each load by weight. The machine is especially useful where pallets must be weighed and labelled before leaving the site or where accurate shipping data is needed for transport documentation.

The machine fits into a packing line as the final station before dispatch. The built-in scale and printer are used where the weight must be recorded and labelled for carriers or warehouse management systems.

How to use the SMARTWRAP X2 PRE-STRETCH pallet wrapper

1. Put the roll of stretch film, 500 mm wide, on the film carriage and thread the film between the rollers.
2. Switch the machine on and choose one of the six programs on the touch screen, or set the turntable speed, the carriage speed and the number of top and bottom wraps for this load.
3. Drive the pallet onto the turntable with a stacker or a pallet truck and attach the end of the film to the load.
4. Press start. The machine weighs the load, turns the pallet and wraps it from the bottom to the top of the load and back, as the program says.
5. Cut the film at the end of the cycle and take the pallet off. The weight is printed on the label.

Settings and maintenance

• Programs. Six programs are stored on the touch screen: the number of wraps at the bottom and at the top, the turntable speed and the carriage speed for each type of load.
• Film tension. Set it for the load: high enough to hold the pallet together, low enough not to crush what is inside.
• Film. Stretch film 500 mm wide and 14 micron thick on a 76 mm core. A thicker film holds more, a thinner one costs less per pallet, the machine takes both.
• Scale. The scale is part of the machine and needs no separate station; check it against a known weight from time to time.
• Maintenance. Switch the machine off before any work. Keep the turntable and the rollers clean of film and dust, and check the chain of the column and the safety devices regularly.

Before you order a pallet wrapper

The price on this page depends on the turntable and the wrapping height, so pick them before you order. A few details decide which version suits your dispatch: check them, or send them to us and we will go through them with you.

• Pallet size. The turntable is 1500, 1650, 1800, 2000 or 2200 mm. It has to carry the whole pallet, including anything that sticks out.
• Load height. Wrapping height 2200, 2600 or 3000 mm; the column is 2000, 2400 or 2800 mm high, so a higher wrap also needs a higher ceiling.
• Weight. Up to 2000 kg per pallet. The scale weighs the load during the cycle and the printer puts the weight on a label.
• Power. 220 V, 50/60 Hz, single phase, 10 A, 1.5 kW. An ordinary socket, no compressed air.
• Space. With the 1500 mm turntable and the 2000 mm column the machine measures 2444 × 1500 × 2100 mm and weighs 550 kg. The length is the turntable plus 944 mm, the width is the turntable itself and the height is the column plus 100 mm, so a bigger turntable needs a longer and wider place. Leave room around it for a stacker or a pallet truck.
