Industrial machinery for warehouses and factories

Industrial machinery in this category includes battery-powered scissor lifts for work at height and thermal inkjet printers for marking packs. These machines are designed for use in warehouses and factories.

There are two subcategories: scissor lifts, with models AS-X6 and AS-X1012, and thermal inkjet printers, with models GT-100E, ST-210S-H1 and ST-210S-H2. Each model is shown below with its main features.

Each subcategory page has a comparison table of its models and answers to buyers’ questions. An overview table of all five industrial machinery products follows below the products.

Scissor lifts as warehouse equipment for work at height

SMITH AS-X6 electric scissor lift, lowered, with the extension deck slid outScissor lifts are industrial machinery for safe work at height in warehouses. The AS-X6 is an electric scissor lift for indoor use only, with a working height of 7.8 m, a capacity of 230 kg and two persons on the platform. It is 0.76 m wide.

The AS-X1012 is an electric scissor lift for indoor and outdoor work, with a working height of 12 m and a capacity of 320 kg. It holds two persons indoors or one person outdoors.

Scissor lifts are used for many maintenance jobs at height in a warehouse: changing lights over aisles, repairing or adjusting racking, laying new cables or pipes along ceilings, fixing safety signs or cleaning high windows. For example, a team might use the AS-X6 in a narrow aisle to replace a damaged beam at the top of the racking, while the AS-X1012 can be used outdoors to install lighting on a loading dock.

When choosing a lift, measure the highest point you must reach and remember that the working height is the platform height plus about 2 m. The AS-X6 is 0.76 m wide and passes narrow aisles and most doors. The AS-X1012 is 1.15 m wide and needs wider passages, but it is the one for outdoor work: with one person on the platform, and never when the wind may exceed 12.5 m/s.

Both lifts are battery powered and self-propelled, so you can move them wherever they are needed, without exhaust fumes. This means the lift can work while the rest of the warehouse runs. The pothole guards drop when the platform rises, and the tilt alarm warns when the lift stands on too steep a slope. The Scissor Lifts page explains these safety systems and the differences between the two models in more detail.

Thermal inkjet printers as factory equipment for marking packs

GT-100E handheld thermal inkjet printer printing a date and a QR code on a cartonThermal inkjet printers are industrial machinery for printing codes, dates and barcodes on packs in factories. The GT-100E is a handheld thermal inkjet printer with a battery, printing codes 1–12.7 mm tall. The ST-210S-H1 is a thermal inkjet printer fixed on a line, with one head for codes up to 12.7 mm tall.

The ST-210S-H2 is a thermal inkjet printer fixed on a line, with two heads for codes up to 25.4 mm tall or for printing in two places on one pack. All printers take 42 ml cartridges and print text, dates, counters, barcodes and QR codes.

Codes are printed at two main points in a factory. You might print a batch number or best-before date directly on each product pack before it goes into a box, or you might print a barcode on the closed box at the end of the line.

The printed data can be fixed or change with each pack, such as a counter that increases for each box. The handheld GT-100E is used for goods that do not travel on a conveyor, such as pipes, panels or boxes already stacked on pallets. The ST-210S-H1 and ST-210S-H2 are mounted on the line and can take their data from your own system over the network port, making them suitable for automated lines where codes must match production data.

Each 42 ml cartridge carries its own nozzles, so every new cartridge also brings new nozzles and there is no permanent print head with nozzles to service. The ink must match the surface: water-based ink is used for carton and paper, while solvent ink is needed for film, metal and glass. For example, if you pack goods in shrink film, you choose solvent ink so the code does not wipe off.

Overview table of industrial machinery models

The table below compares all five industrial machinery products by their main features.

To use the overview table, start by checking the type column, which tells you whether a product is a scissor lift or a thermal inkjet printer. The key figures column gives the main numbers: for lifts, this is the working height and the platform capacity; for printers, it is the maximum code height. For a more detailed comparison, the tables on the subcategory pages show extra features and differences between the models.

Product Type Key figures Subcategory
AS-X6 electric scissor lift, indoor working height 7.8 m, 230 kg Scissor Lifts
AS-X1012 electric scissor lift, indoor and outdoor working height 12 m, 320 kg Scissor Lifts

Buying from an industrial equipment supplier

Each product card has three buttons: Add to cart, Get offer and Add to inquiry. Add to cart orders straight away, Get offer asks for a quote, and Add to inquiry collects several products into one request.

As an industrial equipment supplier, we sell all five machines with a 12-month warranty; the comparison tables on the subcategory pages show the differences between the models.

Use Add to cart if the machine fits your needs as it is, such as when you want a single scissor lift or printer. Choose Get offer if you need a quote, for example if you want extra cartridges for a printer or several units of the same model. Add to inquiry is useful when you want to collect both lifts and printers into one request, such as when you are setting up a new packing area and need several types of equipment at once.

When you send a request, describe the task as clearly as possible. For a lift, include the heights and loads you need to reach and carry. For a printer, state the surface to be printed, the code content and the line speed. Order the cartridges with the printer, so you can start marking as soon as it arrives. On the lifts, the batteries are the part that wears over the years; they are replaced when they are due, not stocked in advance.

Checks before buying a lift

Before buying a lift for work at height, check the working height you need, the load of people, tools and material on the platform, whether the work is indoors or outdoors, and the floor it will stand on. The Scissor Lifts page goes through each point in detail.

The platform must reach about 2 m below the highest point you need to reach: a beam at 6 m needs a platform height of about 4 m. Add together the weight of the people, tools and any materials you will take up. The total must not exceed 230 kg for the AS-X6 or 320 kg for the AS-X1012.

Check the width of your doors and aisles against the machine: the AS-X6 is 0.76 m wide, the AS-X1012 1.15 m. Operators are trained on the machine, and at the start of every shift, a check is done to make sure the lift is safe to use. This includes checking the battery charge and the safety systems.

Checks before buying a printer

ST-210S-H1 print head on its bracket over a conveyor, with the controller behind itBefore buying a printer for marking packs, check the surface and the ink it needs, the code height, the line speed and where the data comes from. The Thermal inkjet printers page explains each point for the three models.

The code height is 12.7 mm per head, so the ST-210S-H2 with two heads can print up to 25.4 mm tall or print in two places on one pack. For example, if your carton needs characters taller than 12.7 mm, such as a large date with a batch line, the ST-210S-H2 is the model for the job.

Resolution and line speed are linked: all three printers print at up to 406 m/min at 90 DPI. At the highest resolution, the ST-210S printers print at up to 60 m/min at 600 DPI and the GT-100E at up to 120 m/min at 300 DPI. The data for printing can be typed on the printer’s screen or sent from your own system. If you need a network connection, choose an ST-210S printer. Always test the ink on your own packaging before starting the production line to check adhesion and drying.

Before your industrial machinery arrives

Before any industrial machinery arrives, check the power supply and the socket, the space and the route into the building, and who will be trained on the machine.

The lifts are charged from a socket in a place away from traffic, so plan a charging spot that does not block aisles; the lift can stand there between jobs, out of the way of forklifts. Fixed printers need their own grounded socket, not shared with other equipment, and ideally a UPS, as the maker recommends. For the printer, keep spare cartridges at the line from the first day to avoid downtime.

A printer mounted on a line needs a firm bracket in a place where it does not vibrate, as vibration can affect print quality. Check the route for the lift from the truck unloading area: make sure it fits through doors, aisles and any goods elevators on the way to its working area. When the machine is delivered, check it and its packaging, and note any damage on the delivery note before you sign it.

Decide in advance who will change the cartridges and edit the texts on the printer, and who will operate the lift, and train them before the first shift. For a printer, have the texts and codes you want to print ready, so the first print can be set up on the first day.
