ECOBAND-A banding machine on a stand for paper and OPP band

ECOBAND-A is an automatic banding machine on a stand: it puts a narrow band of paper or OPP film around a stack or a pack, tensions it, seals it and cuts it off. A belt on the table carries the product under the frame, and a top press holds it down while the band goes on.

It uses band 20 mm or 30 mm wide and 0.12 mm thick, on rolls with a 76 mm core and an outer diameter of up to 300 mm. The frame opening is 460 × 200 mm, and the product must be at least 50 mm wide.

It makes up to 20 bands a minute, and the band tension is adjustable up to 5 kg, so a stack is held together without being crushed. All parameters are set on the touch screen. Inside, the control runs on a safe 24 V DC, it checks each of its ports, and a production counter adds up the bands and can be reset.

The machine stands on its own frame with castors, with the table at a working height of 600 mm, and runs on single-phase power, 110–120 V or 200–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 0.4 kW. It is used wherever products are bundled with a band instead of a strap or film: printed matter, food packs, boxes and trays.

How to use the ECOBAND-A banding machine

1. Put a roll of paper or OPP band, 20 or 30 mm wide, on the roll holder at the front of the stand and thread the band into the machine.
2. Switch the machine on and set the band tension and the other parameters on the touch screen.
3. Place the product on the belt; the belt carries it under the frame.
4. The top press holds the product while the machine puts the band around it, tensions it, seals it and cuts it off.
5. Take the banded product off. The counter on the screen adds up every band.

Settings and maintenance

• Band tension. Set it on the touch screen, up to 5 kg: lower for soft or light products, higher for firm stacks.
• Band. Paper or OPP film, 20 or 30 mm wide and 0.12 mm thick; the roll has a 76 mm core and an outer diameter of up to 300 mm.
• Production counter. It adds up the bands and can be reset, for example at the start of a shift or an order.
• Maintenance. Switch the machine off before any work. Keep the band path and the frame free of paper dust and film residue, and check the belt regularly.
