TONNA E80 PLC vertical baler

TONNA E80 baler with the door open: pressing chamber with strap guides and two strap reels on topTONNA E80 PLC is a vertical baler for cardboard and plastic film, made in Poland by ESPIR TECH (Ecobalers VB53). Loose waste goes in through the upper door and comes out as a tied bale that stacks on a pallet.

Industries and applications: TONNA E80 PLC vertical baler

The TONNA E80 PLC is used in grocery shops, small warehouses, catering facilities, hotels, factories and retail outlets that generate loose cardboard or plastic film waste. It fits where space is limited and regular waste collection is costly or impractical. The baler is suitable for sites that need to keep work areas clear and reduce the number of waste pickups by producing compact, stackable bales for recycling.

Typical users include facility managers and waste management staff who need to process packaging waste from incoming goods, shipping, or daily operations. The machine is often placed near loading docks, storerooms or waste collection points to integrate with existing workflows. Its size allows installation in backrooms or service areas with standard ceiling heights.

It presses with up to 4 tons and makes bales of 40–60 kg in cardboard and 50–70 kg in film, at most 75 kg. The bale measures 80 × 40 × 80 cm; its width and depth are fixed and the operator sets the height.

TONNA E80 vertical baler for cardboard and plastic filmA cycle takes 27 seconds. The press starts by itself when the upper door is closed, and the machine shows when the bale is full.

Operation in daily use: TONNA E80 PLC

For best results, material should be distributed evenly in the chamber. Overfilling or uneven loading can lead to misshapen bales or incomplete compaction. The operator should monitor for jammed material and ensure that straps are correctly positioned before starting a new bale.

It runs from an ordinary 230 V socket with a 1.5 kW motor and draws 11 A. The press measures 93 × 64 × 210 cm, weighs 325 kg and works at 68 dB.

What the baler saves

  • Less volume, fewer collections. Loose cardboard is mostly air; baled, it takes a fraction of the space.
  • Bales that sell. Clean, tied bales of cardboard and film go to the recycler instead of the waste bin.
  • One person runs it. Load, close the upper door and the press starts; the machine says when the bale is full.
  • Two materials. Separate modes for cardboard and for plastic film.
  • An ordinary socket. 230 V, 1.5 kW, 11 A on a C 16 breaker; no three-phase supply.
  • A wide opening. The upper door opens 80 × 55 cm, so large boxes go in without cutting them small.

How a bale is made

  1. Feed the straps down through the guides in the chamber and back through the holes in the door, and tighten them with the hook.
  2. Lay a large carton sheet on the bottom, close the lower door and fill the chamber through the upper door.
  3. Close the upper door: the platen goes down by itself. Repeat until the machine shows a full bale.
  4. Pass the straps over the material, close the door and let the platen come down; tie the straps while it presses.
  5. Raise the platen, open the doors standing to the side, and take the bale out.

Operation and maintenance

  • Stand to the side. Open the doors from the side of the machine: a pressed bale can push the door open.
  • Bale height. Width and depth are fixed. For a smaller bale, hold the green button for 5 seconds and the platen stops lower.
  • Tie with the platen down. The straps are tied while the platen still presses; tied later, the bale opens up.
  • Daily check. Walk round the machine and look for damage and oil leaks before use; keep it clean.
  • Monthly check. Oil level, grease on the moving parts and the electrical connections; an annual service by an authorised workshop.
  • Where it stands. Indoors, dry and ventilated, on a stable level floor; plugged in by a qualified electrician.

Before choosing the TONNA E80 PLC, check that the volume and type of waste match the machine’s capabilities. The baler is intended for dry, clean cardboard and plastic film. Wet, greasy or contaminated materials can damage the press or reduce bale quality. The floor must be level and strong enough to support the machine and the weight of finished bales. Plan the route for moving bales out of the work area, as each bale is heavy and bulky.

Before you order

Adjustable foot of the TONNA E80 baler for levelling it on the floorThe price is on this page. A baler is bought for the waste you actually produce, so check these before you order:

  • How much waste. A bale holds 40–60 kg of cardboard or 50–70 kg of film.
  • Cardboard or film. The machine has a mode for each.
  • Where the bale goes. 80 × 40 × 80 cm and up to 75 kg: plan a pallet or a trolley and a route out.
  • The room. 93 × 64 × 210 cm and 325 kg, indoors on a level floor; the ceiling has to clear 210 cm.
  • The supply. A 230 V socket on a C 16 breaker within reach.
  • Straps. Every bale is tied with straps; plan them as a consumable.
